Recently I had the opportunity to migrate a client from GroupWise to Office 365. I used an automated tool for a quick and secure migration as he don’t want to face any critical situations. The tool I used is Shoviv GroupWise to Office 365 migration tool. It is a cost-efficient utility and is convenient to use even non-technocrats can include it on their GroupWise migration plan.
Here I have demonstrated the complete step-by-step process of the Shoviv GroupWise to Office 365 migration tool.
Expeditious GroupWise migration to Office 365
Start with Installing and launching Shoviv GroupWise to Office 365 migration tool.
Then click on the Add GroupWise option on the ribbon bar. There are many options to add GroupWise mailboxes, i.e. Default, Online, Caching Mailbox, and Remote Mailbox. (In my case am migrating the default mailbox).
If you have multiple mailboxes to migrate, select the Online option’s radio button, and check the Include proxy option.
Once done with adding the GroupWise mailbox, you can preview the mailbox content. Now click on Office 365 from the ribbon bar. Next, it’ll ask you to check folders/subfolders to migrate.
You can also exclude folders/subfolders. For this, check the Exclude folders check box and click select. After that, the Skip folder wizard will open, select folders/subfolders to exclude. Also can type the folder name in the edit box.
Following, provide Office 365 mailbox credentials where you want to transition your GroupWise content. (If migrating multiple mailboxes, then enter the Office 365 admin credentials).
One can also fetch target mailboxes from Outlook profiles to migrate GroupWise content.
In the following wizard, map the source mailbox with the target mailbox; can map GroupWise mailbox with archive mailbox and public folder of Office 365.
Now you will be on the filter wizard. From here, you can select desired items for GroupWise to Office 365 migration. You can filter the data on item type (Mail, calendar, contact, etc.) and message date (Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Equal, Before, etc.)
The same wizard also keeps a folder mapping option that comes in handy to export data from one folder to another. It is a handy feature since GroupWise and Office 365 has a different name for some folders.
Now the software will start GroupWise to Office 365 migration, and you will be on your way to enjoying the Office 365 features.
As you can see, navigating this tool is easy, and I don’t think there is any risk of data loss and human error.
Also, while considering this tool for client migration, I asked Shoviv for technical support and solved some of my queries, and am completely satisfied with them. Like they are professionals in their field and solve my queries in real-time.
Last but not least, you can examine the tool by yourself. Yes, Shoviv offers a free version of the software that works the same as the paid version but has import number restrictions (only exports the first 50 items per folder).
The closure
As I have mentioned above, I used this tool for a client transition and found it very convenient. At last, make sure the third-party tool you choose in your GroupWise to Office 365 migration plan is specially designed for the task. There are many automated tools, but always choose the one which provides the most value and eases the migration process.
Note: GroupWise to Office 365 Migration tool is a handy solution for migrating mailboxes from GroupWise to Office 365 accounts at once.
